Description
Building materials, usually, are subjected to contractions, expansions or warping due to changes in humidity and temperature environments. These tensions should not be higher than the internal resistance of the material to avoid reaching fisurarlo. Some structures alone can withstand these stresses (eg .: railroad tracks); others require reinforcements such as armor to absorb the stresses. To control the movements that generate the stresses produced within the structures are used for expansion joints.
